Third Light Home (aka Ian Preece) was part of the Wireless ‘massive’ of
djs in the nineties, proud custodians of a club night Upstairs at the Garage
in London. Tired of being hassled to play either too much house music, or
Queen, and having once been accused of playing something ‘funded by
the fucking Prince’s Trust’ (actually a track by Nudge, on Kranky records),
he returned to his front room to pursue a pure, eclectic vision.
Loves:
dub, dubstep; ambient electronica; jazz, free jazz; much American acoustic / guitar music be that ‘alt country’ or ‘free folk’; plenty of things from Chicago, Berlin, Portland, Oregon; the Analog Africa label; most things ‘elegiac’; The Tindersticks.
